- There is perhaps some indication that LSL1 actually brings Larry to an alternate game universe version of Larry Laffer, in which LSL4 'happened' for the character. In this case, Larry's birthdate may actually still be 1949, rather than 1951.
- Both LSL1VGA and LSL5 appear to take place in October based on calendar in Larry 5, and centerfold in LSL1VGA.
- The back of the box states: "He's just turned 40 and he's still single." It also says he was kicked out of his house at age 38. These are references to the original EGA manual, and box. Also age 40 is confirmed in the manual as well.
- Larry VGA was released in 1991. However it was released many months before October, for October to work in context it would have to be as early as 1990 or shows the future a few months ahead. Or Lefty never bothered to change the calendar.
- The exact dating of the game is not specific though hintbook mentions the game updated into the 90s, and the game was released in 1991.
- There is at least one nod to the differences between Larry AGI and VGA version in that narrator mentions video poker replaced the dealer from the original.
